On Saturday night, two of the traditional giants of Italian football meet at the Allianz Stadium, as Juventus host AC Milan.

Juventus have returned to their perennial position at the top of Serie A in recent months after Napoli occupied top spot in the Italian top-flight for the first-half of the season.

The Bianconeri have hit form of late in Serie A, winning 12 of their last 13 league games. A 12-game winning run came to a head in their last league outing, as struggling SPAL held Max Allegri’s side to a goalless draw.

One of the key factors in Juventus’ recent good run of form is their formidable defensive displays, as the home side has kept 15 clean sheets in their last 16 outings in Serie A.

Allegri’s side also has a very strong home record, claiming 35 wins from their last 38 Serie A matches at the Allianz Stadium. They have also kept seven clean sheets in a row in home games.

Milan has undergone a real resurgence since the appointment of club icon Gennaro Gattuso as boss. The Rossoneri are now sixth-place in Serie A, 12 games unbeaten in the Italian top-flight and just five points behind the top-four.

A 3-2 victory over Chievo last time out in Serie A means that Gattuso’s team have now recorded five straight wins in the Italian top-flight, while also keeping clean sheets in four of those victories.

The visitors have won their last three Serie A games on their travels while keeping clean sheets. In fact, they are now undefeated in six league games on the road. Milan has also failed to score in just one of their last 11 away games in Serie A.

Milan should provide the home side with a real challenge. However, Forebet predicts that the Bianconeri will come out on top in a low scoring encounter.
