Borussia Dortmund started the second half of the season with an astonishing away win with 0:5 against Werder Bremen. Although the team is 12 points behind the leader Bayern, no doubt they will try to win it all for the rest of the season in order to worthy defend the title from last year. In turn, the team of Nürnberg has a totally different ambition, which is to stay in the league. The guests occupy the 15th position in the standings, while the relegation zone is formed by the 16th, 17th and 18th place.
It is extremely rare Borussia not to score a goal in a home game. Specifically, the team didn`t score a goal only once in its home games so far this season. The young footballers of Dortmund practice attractive and offensive football, and quite logically they score a lot of goals. Only four attacking players of the team have made a total of 31 goals - Lewandowski, Reus, Götze and Blaszczykowski. The guests, however, are not that effective in attack this season, especially with regard to their games as a guest. In their visits the Nürnberg players score an average of just 0.14 goals per match.
In the matches against more serious teams, Nürnberg relies heavily on solid defense and strong midfield. Given the difficult visit ahead of the team, we can assume that Nürnberg will play rather defensively and wait for chances to counterattack. Clearly the favorite in this game is the host, with bookmakers giving modest odds of around 1.20 for Borussia Dortmund to win.
