Chelsea FC and Manchester City face each other in a direct clash of the battle for the Premiership title.
If City wins this game, the team will again take the first place in the table, while the three points for Chelsea would put them close to
the first two teams. Rafael Benítez has a difficult debut as manager of Chelsea against the current champions of the league.
The outcome of this match is of great importance to Benitez, because he was not welcomed well by the
Chelsea fans. The main reason for the negative attitude of the fans towards the manager is his stay at the rival Liverpool.
Manchester City are the only unbeaten team in the Premier League this season, however, they are only four points ahead of Chelsea. Furthermore, City haven`t got a single loss in their last 18 league games.
In seven of the last eight home games against City, the Chelsea players have scored at least two goals. In turn, the players of Manchester, with the exception of the game against West Ham, always score at least one goal in their away games.
Thus, we can assume that this game will most likely end with at least 2 or 3 goals.
Rafael Benitez managed to get the best out of Torres, while playing for Liverpool. He is expected to lead the attack for Chelsea in this match. Perhaps Torres will finally start to
score as he did under the coaching of Benitez.
For the home team Daniel Sturridge is a doubt for the game, but Lampard and Terry certainly miss the match due to injuries. Mancini will not be able to rely on Jack Rodwell and
Micah Richards, while Vincent Kompany and Gaël Clichy are doubtful to take part in this match. Kompany got injured in the game against Real Madrid and it is not yet clear how bad the injury is.
Manchester City have three draws as a guest in the league so far, and the results over the years in their visits to Stamford Bridge are not promising. However, the guests are constantly developing their game and will surely try to
improve their record against Chelsea.
