Clarets set to edge clash with the Hornets

On Sunday afternoon, Burnley host Watford at Turf Moor in the Premier League, as the home side look to pick up their first top-flight win of the campaign.

Burnley kicked off the new Premier League campaign with a goalless draw at Southampton. The Clarets had the better of the chances but home goalkeeper Alex McCarthy produced an impressive display to earn the Saints a point.

The draw means that the home side has failed to win in six games in the Premier League. However, four of those games on the winless run have finished all square.

The Clarets recent home record in the top-flight is not great, as they have failed to win in their last three games at Turf Moor in the Premier League.

Sean Dyche’s side heads into this clash on the back of an extra-time victory over Aberdeen in the Europa League third qualifying round. It remains to be seen if the side from Lancashire will suffer fatigue after the gruelling tie.

Watford opened their Premier League campaign with a 2-0 home win over Brighton. The win will have come as a relief to everybody connected with the Hornets, as they headed into the new campaign on the back of just one win from their previous nine league outings.

Their recent Premier League games have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six outings in the top-flight.

The Hornets recent away record in the Premier League is woeful, as the visitors have failed to win in their last 12 top-flight games on their travels, suffering defeat in 11 of those 12 winless games.  Javi Gracia’s side has also scored just twice in their last 12 away games in the Premier League.

Forebet predicts that Burnley will get back to winning ways in the top-flight in a high scoring encounter.
