Brentford set for comfortable win over Birmingham

On Tuesday night, Brentford and Birmingham go head-to-head at Griffin Park, as the home side look to push closer to the automatic promotion spots.

The Bees started the season in decent fashion and are currently sixth-place in the Championship table. However, the home side have now failed to win in their last three league outings, picking up just two points in the process. Last time out in the Championship Dean Smith’s side drew 2-2 at home against Reading.

Although Brentford’s recent league games have not been that high scoring, four of the Bees last five have seen both teams score.

One of Brentford’s strengths of late has been their home form in the second tier, as Smith’s team are now ten games unbeaten on home soil in the second tier.

The key to that recent good home form is the Bees attacking prowess, as the home side has scored at least two goals in six of their last seven league games, including their last five games at Griffin Park.

Birmingham have endured mixed fortunes this season so far in the Championship. The Blues are currently 16th place in the second tier after a six-game unbeaten run. Last time out Garry Monk’s side drew 2-2 at home against Ipswich Town.

However, the visitor’s problem this season has been drawing too many games. In fact, City have drawn seven of their ten Championship games this season, including five of their last six matches.

The visitor’s recent away games have been relatively low scoring in the second tier, with under 2.5 goals scored in six of their last nine away games in the Championship.

Forebet predicts that Brentford will record a comfortable victory in a low-scoring clash, leaving the visitors with just one league win from ten outings in the Championship this season.
