Brentford to end winless run against Ipswich
2569

On Wednesday night, Brentford will look to end their poor recent Championship form when the Bees host rock bottom Ipswich at Griffin Park.

Brentford FC’s hopes of finishing in the play-off spots this season have faded of late after a five-game winless run in the Championship. The Bees are now 11 points adrift of the top six in the second tier.

The home side drew 3-3 at home against Derby last time out in the Championship, which ended a run of four league games without a goal for Thomas Frank’s team.

Brentford have failed to win in their last two home matches in the second tier. However, the Bees have won six of their last nine home matches in the league. The home side have been prolific on home soil of late in the Championship, scoring at least two goals in five of their last seven home games.

Ipswich Town are bottom of the table and 13 points adrift of safety. Not even a recent run of just one defeat in their last five league games has improved the Tractor Boys outlook. In fact, it looks just a matter of time until their relegation is confirmed.

A 2-1 away win at Bolton last time out ended a run of 12 Championship games without a victory. Their recent league outings have been low scoring, as seven of their last nine matches have produced under 2.5 goals.

Ipswich are unbeaten in four away games in the Championship, although the aforementioned win over Bolton ended a 13-match winless run on their travels. One of the key factors in Town’s poor recent away form has been that the visitors have not kept a clean sheet in 20 league games on their travels.

Forebet predicts that Brentford will end their terrible recent run of results by recording a win in a high scoring clash.
