This coming Sunday is going to be nothing less than super and with both Manchester City and Liverpool in action, there will no doubt be huge ramifications in terms of this season’s Premier League title race.

Although nothing is a given in this division, there is an expectation that Manchester City will bounce back from their defeat to Tottenham in midweek and get the better of Crystal Palace earlier in the afternoon and if that is the case, the pressure will be heaped on the shoulders of Liverpool.

Not only that, but Jurgen Klopp’s men have the tricky task of getting the better of a Chelsea side who have found something of a resurgence as of late and will be looking to extend their run of three league wins in a row.

Chelsea’s hopes of a top four finish have taken something of a resurgence as of late and they certainly cannot be discredited in this encounter, especially if Eden Hazard shows anything like the talents he displayed on Monday night.

The mercurial Belgian was simply exemplary at Stamford Bridge and this was none more evident than when he weaved past five West Ham defenders before coolly slotting home and putting Chelsea ahead.

If he is in the mood to do something similar on Sunday, Liverpool could be in for a long afternoon and if that proves to be the case, the title race could well take a dramatic twist in the final month of the campaign.

However, one must not forget that Chelsea travelled to the Czech Republic on Thursday – a trip that saw them get the better of Slavia Prague in dramatic circumstances, courtesy of Marcos Alonso’s late headed winner.

Progress to the Europa League Semi-finals will have moved a step closer for Maurizio Sarri and his players, but you do have to wonder if those Thursday night exploits and the travelling that goes with it, will then have a knock-on effect for this weekend.

Liverpool will of course hope that it does and although they had European exploits of their own, they played at Anfield and also took to the field 48 hours earlier, giving them a huge advantage in terms of recovery time.

That is an advantage that Jurgen Klopp will hope to utilise and he will also hope that now Mohamed Salah has ended his goalscoring drought, the Egyptian will be firing on all cylinders and ready to get the better of his former employers.

Liverpool have answered every question that Manchester City have recently asked of them and although they have not kept a clean sheet in their last four league outings, they have done the most important thing and that is winning all of them.

With that in mind, it could well be a similar outcome that we see this Sunday afternoon and although Chelsea do have an obvious goal threat, fatigue may get the better of them. Therefore a 2-1 home win, is an outcome that should be highly considered.
