Premier League Fantasy Football Picks – Round 2
6510

The second round of Premier League fixtures gets underway this weekend, and it’s time to think about your fantasy football picks for the next round.

In round one, Manchester City and Liverpool picked up where they left off with high-scoring victories and Manchester United put four past Chelsea.

Burnley and Brighton both won 3-0, beating Southampton and Watford respectively, while Arsenal scraped past Newcastle.

Let’s take a look at the top picks for round two.

Goalkeeper

  • David de Gea – Manchester United

Manchester United had a poor defensive record last season but de Gea was one of the top ‘keepers in round one with a clean sheet against Chelsea. Harry Maguire has made United’s defense looks far more stable and his arrival is likely to help the team keep more clean sheets.

Defenders

  • Lewis Dunk – Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton kept a clean sheet in round one and Dunk also managed to secure an assist against Watford. The giant center-back is a genuine threat from set-pieces too and pops up with more goals than most defenders.

  • Tyrone Mings – Aston Villa

Mings also claimed an assist in his opening match of the season. Aston Villa host Bournemouth in the next round and considering that the Cherries only managed one goal against newly promoted Sheffield United, Villa and Mings are in line for a clean sheet on Saturday.

Midfielders

  • Raheem Sterling – Manchester City

Sterling enjoyed a phenomenal 2018/19 campaign, picking up 17 Premier League goals while also registering 12 assists. The winger scored a hat-trick against West Ham on the opening day and seems to have carried last season’s blistering form into the new campaign.

  • Emiliano Buendia – Norwich City

The Argentine had a fantastic campaign for the Canaries last season, and after recording an assist against Liverpool in round one, he could cause Newcastle some real problems in round two.

Forwards

  • Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur

The two-time Golden Boot winner bagged a brace against Aston Villa on matchday one and is arguably the best finisher in the division. Spurs have a wide array of assist makers at the club and this significantly enhances Kane’s chances of scoring goals.

  • Sebastien Haller – West Ham United

Despite losing 5-0 to Man City last time out, Sebastien Haller was the Hammers’ standout performer with an eye-catching display up front. With Brighton next up for West Ham, Haller could well open his goal scoring account for the club.
