The struggling Everton take on Aston Villa at Villa Park for the second time this season with the Toffees aiming to make it two wins in a row with a victory in the EFL Cup after a sensational win for Villa last time out.

Unai Emery’s excellent form at the helm of Villa continued last weekend with a sensational win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The game was locked at 0-0 for a while until Chelsea saw a red card, as Ollie Watkins went on to score his first Premier League goal of the season with a second half goal.

Watkins does also have four goals in the Europa Conference League after a few goals in the playoffs against Hibernian, and he could miss out for Jhon Duran in this game after his excellent goalscoring start to the season that sees him with five goals already and another in the Europa Conference League the other week.

However, that game ended in a 3-2 defeat to Legia Warszawa for Villa, although they have also beaten Crystal Palace in September.

These two sides have already met once this season back in the Premier League where Villa’s excellent start to the season got off and running with a first half goal from John McGinn and a penalty from Douglas Luiz.

Leon Bailey and Duran also scored goals in the second half of a 4-0 win.

Aston Villa have some injuries to deal with in this game which is likely to force some changes to the team here.

Emi Buendia is out for the season still, and Tyrone Mings is also out for the entire campaign as well and Pau Torres is likely to start in this one.

Bertrand Traore and Diego Carlos Santos are also not going to be fit to play here in this one. Timothy Iroegbunam is nearing a return, but he won't do so here.

Dele Alli is not going to play here and is still far from returning it seems, while Seamus Coleman is also out for another month at least.

Jack Harrison is also not going to feature in this game either, neither will Andre Gomes, but both could return this weekend in the Premier League

As for Everton, they finally got their first win of the season last time out with a fantastic win away to Brentford. However, the club's only other win before this was in the EFL Cup over Doncaster Rovers.

Forebet predicts a win for Villa and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
