Bayern Munich will bid to extend their unbeaten start to the Bundesliga season when they entertain SC Freiburg at the Allianz Arena on Sunday.

As we head into Matchday 7, Bayern Munich find themselves third – four points clear of eighth-placed Freiburg and two points shy of table-topping Bayer Leverkusen.

With Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund also unbeaten after six matches, Bayern will be eager to maintain their hot streak.

Bayern Munich enter Sunday’s showdown on the back of an unconvincing 2-1 victory over FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League.

Trailing with less than 30 minutes remaining in Denmark, Thomas Tuchel’s men turned things around thanks to goal from Jamal Musiala and Mathys Tel.

In the Bundesliga, Bayern have won four and drawn two of their six games this season, scoring a whopping 20 goals while conceding just six.

When you look at the bigger picture, the Bavarians have scored in each of their previous 33 league outings, meaning they should find the back of the net on Sunday.

As for Freiburg, they suffered a 2-1 loss against West Ham United in the Europa League on Thursday, despite racking up 11 shots while enjoying the lion’s share of possession on home soil.

Thursday’s defeat means that Freiburg have managed to win just two of their last six matches across all competitions, suffering three defeats in the process.

Following heavy defeats to Stuttgart (5-0) and Dortmund (4-2), Freiburg have turned things around in the league, keeping successive clean sheets.

Thanks to a goalless draw with Eintracht Frankfurt and a 2-0 victory over Augsburg last weekend, the visitors will fancy their chances of upsetting the odds in Bavaria.

Head-to-head: Bayern have won each of their last four Bundesliga meetings with Freiburg, scoring 12 goals while conceding just twice.

On top of that, the perennial champions have avoided defeat in each of their previous 14 league encounters with Freiburg, picking up 11 wins along the way.

Team news: Bayern Munich’s injury list contains Serge Gnabry, Matthijs de Ligt, Manuel Neuer, Gabriel Marusic and Tarek Buchmann.

Freiburg also have five injury absentees, with Christian Gunter, Yannik Keitel, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, Max Rosenfelder and Benjamin Uphoff on the treatment table.

Although Bayern have not been firing on all cylinders, Tuchel’s men shouldn’t struggle to get past an inconsistent Freiburg outfit.

Forebet predicts that Bayern Munich will make light work of Freiburg, with the hosts expected to score over 2.5 goals while keeping a clean sheet.
