Forebet is here to analysis the data, trends and mathematics for the Bundesliga’s first game of the weekend that sees Bayer Leverkusen play hosts to Mainz at the BayArena.

Our football predictions for this game looks at the chances of the Bundesliga leaders staying eight clear of Bayern Munich in second place.

Leverkusen managed to beat the champions two weeks ago, and it now means they all but have one hand on the Bundesliga title after avoiding a loss in all 22 games so far. This has seen them win 18 times and draw only four games.

In that home win against Bayern, Josip Stanisic and Alex Grimaldo scored a goal each before Jeremie Frimpong added a goal in the 95th minute of the game. Frimpong was also amongst the goals in the 2-1 win over Heidenheim, as Amine Adli also scored.

Leverkusen have even managed to get into the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal after a 3-2 win over Stuttgart earlier in February that has now seen the club set up a game with Dusseldorf.

Alongside a potential league title triumph, Xabi Alonso's men are also into the knockout stages of the Europa League.

The last time Alonso's men dropped points was in a 0-0 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach, as they went on to defeat Darmstadt shortly after.

These two sides met back in September, as Leverkusen ran out comfortable 3-0 winners by scoring from their three shots on target.

Grimaldo continued his excellent goalscoring form that day, while Jonas Hofmann also scored in the second half, Sepp van den Berg also scored an own goal in favour of Leverkusen.

As for Mainz, they are sitting down in 17th and things have only got worse for them since the loss to Leverkusen. The club have won only two games and now lost a total of 11, although they did get their second win of the league season by beating Augsburg thanks to a finish from van den Berg.

Nevertheless, it does look as if relegation is well on the cards for Mainz, as the gap is now seven points on Gladbach in 15th, while a spot in the relegation playoffs against Koln is one point away.

Forebet predicts a win for Leverkusen once more, as they edge nearer to the Bundesliga title. Forebet also predicts the game to see under 2.5 goals once more
