Atalanta won their last five matches versus Monza in all competitions dating back to 2000. Will our score prediction back La Dea to get a sixth straight win over the Biancorossi?

Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta are coming off a landmark week. The club qualified for the Europa League semifinals, where they will face Serie A foes Marseille in the final four.

Despite losing 1-0 to Liverpool on Thursday night, they qualified thanks to an aggregate score of 3-1.

It is Atalanta’s first semifinal in a European competition since 1988. The team had already qualified for the Coppa Italia semifinals, meaning a cup double could be on the cards.

Monza will aim to end the feel-good factor for Gasperini and company. They are 11th in the Serie A standings and will have yet another season of Serie A football in 2024-25.

The Biancorossi are not in good form ahead of Atalanta’s arrival, however. Their last three matches ended without wins, with just one point from nine.

Monza ended a two-game losing streak a week ago by picking up a nil-nil draw against Bologna. Monza are eight points off Atalanta and sixth place, potentially the Europa Conference League qualification place.

However, Serie A could get a fifth Champions League place next season. This means the Conference League spot could go to seventh or eighth place.

Atalanta won 3-0 against Monza in the reverse fixture. Ederson and Gianluca Scamacca put Atalanta into the lead before halftime. Scamacca added a third goal just after the hour mark to send Atalanta onto an easy win.

Four of the last five matches between these clubs ended with over 2.5 goals scored. This has historically been a high-scoring fixture. The last three Serie A meetings between them saw Atalanta outscore Monza 10-2.

Monza lost two of their last three home matches. They were outscored 8-4 across those three games, with losses to Roma and Napoli.

Napoli are interestingly rumoured as a possible destination for Gasperini in the offseason. His decision could be swayed by Atalanta’s cup performances.

La Dea have not played well on the road this season and have a 5W-4D-7L record. They failed to win four of their last five away matches, and lost to Cagliari 2-1 on their last trip away from Bergamo.

Scamacca is second in goal scoring for Atalanta with nine goals in Serie A. He is in fantastic form ahead of the trip to Monza and is a player to watch out for.

The big centre-forward could lead Atalanta to victory. Our score prediction backs the Bergamo club to win away from home 3-1 in another high-scoring game against Monza.
