Bournemouth Defend 100% Record Against the Toffees

The third round of 2018/19 Premier League actions kicks off this weekend with several fixtures on Saturday.  One of the afternoon games is very intriguing as Bournemouth meet Everton at the Vitality Stadium.

The first aim for Bournemouth every season is to avoid relegation and they have made a good start in that respect. Everton on the other hand have desires to move up the Premier League table and challenge those in the top six.

Both teams will believe they have what it takes to win this match and further enhance their promising start to the season.

Bournemouth come into this game with a 100% record this season having won both their two Premier League games.  The Cherries started with a home match against newly promoted Cardiff City and were expected to run out winners.  They did so, scoring 2 goals and keeping a clean sheet.

Their second game was going to be more difficult at West Ham United but again Bournemouth scored 2 goals to take maximum points in a 2-1 victory.

Its been a perfect start to the season for Bournemouth and they carried on from where they left off in the previous campaign.  Trends show Bournemouth have won their last four league matches and have lost only two of their last eleven home Premier League games.  In eight of those eleven league games Bournemouth have scored 2 or more goals, which is a good record.

Everton will be happy with the way their season has started, winning 4 points from 6 available. They started their campaign at Wolverhampton Wanderers and despite being down to ten men, the Toffees picked up a point in a 2-2 draw.  Twice Everton took the league in the match but they could not hold on for maximum points.

Everton’s first home match of the season came against Southampton and the Toffees looked on course for a comfortable win, leading 2-0 at half-time.  However, Southampton scored early in the second half and Everton were forced into a nervous final 30 minutes before seeing out the win.

While Everton have remained unbeaten in seven of their last eight Premier League games, they have struggled away from home.  Trends show Everton have won only three of their last twenty away matches and this is a statistic Marco Silva will be hoping to change this season, starting on the south coast.

Team news and Bournemouth are still waiting to hand Premier League debuts to Diego Rico and Jefferson Lerma.  The latter could make the bench but Rico is serving the final match of a ban.  Callum Wilson and Joshua King should continue in attack.

Everton will be without central defender Phil Jagielka who is serving the second of a three game ban.  Yerry Mina is injured but Kurt Zouma could come in for Mason Holgate at the back.  Andre Gomes and Bernard could be involved this week but Morgan Schneiderlin is expected to miss out.

This is going to be a very competitive game and both teams will be looking to score goals. However, its difficult to split the teams and we could see an entertaining draw, with both teams scoring.
