One of the biggest success stories of the Ligue One in the first half of the campaign has been the form of Reims. However, as David Guion’s side heads into Wednesday night’s trip to Amiens they are in a need of a victory to kick-off start their promising campaign.
The visitors are in need of a victory after winning just two of their last nine matches in the French top-flight while taking just a point from their last two league games of the campaign. Last time out in Ligue One, they suffered a 2-0 defeat at Nimes.
Despite the defeat, Reims are still in the top half of the French top-flight table, just four points off the European spots.
Reims recent away record in Ligue One is inconsistent, as they have won just one of their last four league matches on their travels. Their recent away games have been tight, low-scoring affairs with their last ten games producing under 2.5 goals.
A part of that low-scoring record is down to the fact that Reims have found the net just five times in their last eight matches on the road.
Amiens currently occupy the relegation play-off spot in Ligue One, although they are just three points from the safety of 17th place.
The home team are on a seven-game winless run in the French top-flight, having suffered six defeats in the process. A leaky defence has been the main problem for Amiens, as they have conceded at least two goals all six of their recent Ligue One defeats.
Amiens have also struggled for victories on home soil in the French top-flight of late, as they have won just two of their last eight outings at the Stade Credit Agricole de la Licorne.
Forebet predicts that Reims will get back to winning ways in a low-scoring encounter to deepen Amiens problems.
