Chelsea will be looking to kick-start their Premier League season when they welcome unbeaten Arsenal to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

With eight matches in the books, the Blues find themselves 11th in the Premier League table – nine points behind joint leaders Arsenal.

Can the Gunners extend their unbeaten start to the season? Or will Chelsea rise to the occasion on home soil? It’s time to take a closer look at both sides.

Let’s start with the hosts, Chelsea, who have experienced an inconsistent campaign up to now, recording three wins, two draws and three defeats in the league.

That said, Mauricio Pochettino’s men have shown signs of improvement in recent weeks, bouncing back from a run of one victory in six matches at the start of the season.

Thanks to victories over Fulham and Burnley before the international break, Chelsea head into Saturday’s showdown on a two-game winning streak.

It is worth noting, however, that Chelsea have lost each of their last two home games, suffering 1-0 defeats against Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.

On the flip side, Arsenal have enjoyed a strong start to the season, picking up six wins and two draws to remain unbeaten in the Premier League.

Not only have the Gunners won six of their eight league outings this term, but they have also notched four clean-sheet victories for good measure.

Following a 4-0 thrashing of Bournemouth, Mikel Arteta’s men secured a hugely impressive 1-0 win against Manchester City, underlining their title credentials.

Having lost just five of their previous 40 Premier League clashes, Arsenal will back themselves to pick up another positive result this weekend.

Head-to-head: Arsenal have won each of their last three league games against Chelsea, scoring eight goals while conceding three.

The Blues, on the other hand, have managed to win only one of their previous seven league meetings with the Gunners, losing five of the past six.

Team news: Chelsea’s lengthy injury list features Wesley Fofana, Christopher Nkunku, Ben Chilwell, Romeo Lavia, Reece James, Carney Chukuwemeka and Trevoh Chalobah.

As for Arsenal, Jurrien Timber remains sidelined due to an ACL injury. There are also question marks over the fitness of Bukayo Saka, William Saliba and Leandro Trossard.

Although Chelsea produced a couple of improved performances before the international break, they will likely struggle to deal with Arsenal’s firepower.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Arsenal will claim all three points on Saturday, scoring over 1.5 goals while keeping a clean sheet.
