The opening fixture of the weekend in the Spanish topflight takes place on Friday the 8th of December as Getafe meet Valencia.

The game will be played at the Estadio Coliseo del Golfo and the hosts begin this round of matches in 10th place on 19 points while the visitors are one place above them but on the same number of points.

Getafe come into the game having beat Atzeneta 2-1 away in the second round of the Copa del Rey.

It was a match Getafe were expected to win against a team playing in the Tercera Federación, which is the fifth tier of Spanish football.

With the score 0-0 at half time, Getafe scored in the 53rd minute only to concede the equaliser 3 minutes later.

Getafe saved their blushes with a second goal in the 74th minute.

The win over Atzeneta means Getafe are undefeated in 10 of their 11 most recent fixtures in all competitions.

There have been wins over Cadiz and Almeria at home in La Liga plus Tardienta away in the first round of the Copa del Rey.

The only defeat came away from home to Las Palmas in La Liga.

Trends show Getafe are undefeated in 8 of their last 9 La Liga games but have won only 2 of their 10 most recent league matches.

Getafe have a good record of 18 undefeated games in their last 21 home encounters in La Liga.

Valencia make the trip to the Estadio Coliseo del Golfo on the back of a 1-0 win at Arosa in the Copa del Rey second round on Tuesday night.

The only goal of the game was scored in the 8th minute and it was a narrow win for Valencia against a team playing in the Tercera Federación.

The win at Arosa was the first victory for Valencia in 4 matches. They were defeated 5-1 at Real Madrid and 2-1 at Girona in La Liga plus were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Celta Vigo in the league.

Trends show Valencia have won only 1 of their 5 most recent fixtures in La Liga.

The win came at home against Granada and Valencia have been struggling to win games on the road, recording just 3 victories from their last 23 away matches in La Liga.

However, they are undefeated in 2 of their last 4 away trips in the league. Over 2.5 goals have been scored in Valencia's last 3 away La Liga games.

Team news: Getafe have three players unavailable as Omar Alderete, Diego Rico Salguero, and Damian Suarez are suspended. José Ángel Carmona, Mauro Arambarri, and Enes Ünal are all injured.

Valencia make the trip without injured defender Jose Gaya. He is the only player definitely unavailable but there are doubts over the fitness of André Almeida.

Getafe have some problems at the back with three defensive regulars suspended.

They have been proving tough to beat recently but Getafe struggle to win games and this is another match that could end level, with over 2.5 goals and both teams scoring.
