Juventus are on a poor run of form, with two straight losses in Serie A. The Bianconeri’s back-to-back losses has them trailing Inter in the Scudetto race by seven points.
Will our algorithm predict a Juventus win away at Hellas Verona to get them back in the title race?
Hellas Verona are also on a poor run of Serie A form. The Gialloblu failed to win any of their last four games, taking two points from 12 on offer.
The trend between these teams in recent seasons saw Juventus claim wins, without conceding a goal. Each of the last four games saw Juve win to nil.
Remarkably, the last three straight games all finished 1-0. Will that winning trend continue this weekend?
Hellas Verona have played well at home this term, taking 13 of their 19 points at the Bentegodi. Still, the Gialloblu have struggled to score and keep out goals. They have a goal difference of -2 playing at home.
Juventus are Serie A’s second-best away team. Twenty-six of their 53 points have come on the road. They outscored their opponents 19-9 on the road. Until Juve’s recent 1-0 defeat to Inter at San Siro, they had won three consecutive road fixtures.
Earlier this season, Hellas played Juventus closely, with the game nil-nil going into second-half stoppage time. However, Juventus’s Andrea Cambiaso scored the winner in the 96th minute to give Juventus all three points.
Dusan Vlahovic leads Juventus in goals scoring statistics, with 12 goals. He is second in the league behind Lautaro Martinez’s 19 goals. No other Juve player has scored more than six goals.
Hellas Verona forward Cyril Ngonge leads the team in goals with six. Milan Duric has added five this season. However, goals have not flowed for Verona this term. They scored just 21 times in their opening 24 goals. It is the third-lowest total in Serie A.
Making Verona’s issues to score more difficult this weekend is Juventus’s defence. The Bianconeri are the league’s second-best defence, with just 15 goals allowed.
Max Allegri could be without forward Moises Kean and full-back Mattia De Sciglio due to leg injuries. The former is a doubt to make the squad and the latter is just back in training following a spell on the sidelines.
Hellas’ Juan Manuel Cruz is the only doubt for the team due to physical discomfort. First-year coach Marco Baroni is hoping for an upset against Juventus, however, Hellas Verona are set to drop points again to Juventus.
Juventus should continue their trend of clean sheets, with a 2-0 win over Hellas at the Bentegodi. The win could get Juve back into the title race.
