Forebet’s mathematics-based football predictions turn towards Serie A on Friday as two of Italy’s biggest clubs lock horns in the capital.

Lazio welcome AC Milan to the Stadio Olimpico to kick-start Matchday 27, with the ninth-placed Eagles trailing the third-placed Rossoneri by 13 points in the table.

Trends show that Milan have scored at least one goal in each of their last 15 Serie A matches, but Lazio have lost just two of their previous 11 home league games.

Lazio head into Friday’s showdown on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Fiorentina, scoring with their only shot on target before conceding two second-half goals.

The Eagles have now lost three of their last five Serie A clashes, with defeats against Atalanta (3-1) and Bologna (2-1) preceding Monday’s failure.

When you look at the bigger picture, however, Lazio have won six of their previous 10 league outings, scoring over 1.5 goals in five of those victories.

Having also won six of their last 10 home league games – suffering two defeats in the process – the Eagles will be hopeful of picking up a positive result on Friday.

Meanwhile, AC Milan were held to a 1-1 draw by Atalanta last time out, despite racking up 69% possession and 20 shots at the San Siro.

The Rossoneri have now failed to win any of their previous three matches across all competitions, suffering back-to-back defeats against Monza (4-2) and Rennes (3-2).

Still, Milan have lost just one of their last 11 Serie A encounters, picking up seven wins and three draws to remain in control of their top-four destiny.

It is also worth noting that Milan have scored over 1.5 goals in each of their previous eight away league games, further highlighting their offensive strength.

Head-to-head: Not only have AC Milan won each of their last two matches against Lazio, but they have also won five of their previous six.

In terms of the wider H2H stats, the Rossoneri have lost just seven of their last 47 league meetings with the Eagles, with Milan dominating this fixture in recent years.

Team news: The hosts look set to be without Spanish defender Patric and young midfielder Nicolo Rovella due to injury.

As for the visitors, Serbian striker Luka Jovic is suspended, while Mattia Caldara and Tommaso Pobega will miss Friday’s clash through injury.

Although Lazio have remained tough to beat at the Stadio Olimpico this season, Milan’s impressive scoring streak away from home is difficult to ignore.

Forebet predicts that AC Milan will once again score over 1.5 goals on their travels, claiming all three points at the expense of the Eagles.
