Napoli to post Serie A win against Sassuolo

Napoli are winless in their last three games in Serie A and any hopes of winning the Scudetto are nearly done and dusted.
Although Napoli are just seven points behind league leader AC Milan with four games to play, it will be nearly impossible to overcome that deficit.
On Sunday, the Partenopei will host Sassuolo as they seek a win to end a three-game slide. Sassuolo are on a two-match losing streak in Serie A. The Neroverdi are 10th in the standings and will finish in midtable.
Sassuolo are coming off of a 2-1 loss at home to Juventus. The Neroverdi led early in the game but conceded twice to slump to the loss.
Napoli are coming off of 3-2 loss to Empoli. The Partenopei led 2-0 after 53 minutes, but conceded three times in the final 10 minutes to lose the game. It was a devastating loss in the race for the Scudetto.
The teams drew 2-2 in the reverse fixture this season. Fabin Ruiz scored in the 51st minute for Napoli and Dries Mertens doubled the lead eight minutes later. Sassuolo came from behind to draw thanks to goals from Gianluca Scamacca and Gian Marco Ferrari in the final 19 minutes.
Although Napoli have a strong head-to-head versus Sassuolo, the Neroverdi are unbeaten in their last three games versus the Partenopei. However, each of the last two Serie A games between these teams finished as draws.
Napoli midfielder Stanislav Lobotka has a hamstring injury and is a doubt to make the team. Defender Giovanni Di Lorenzo has a knee sprain which could keep him out of action.
Sassuolo’s Kyriakopoulos is suspended for the fixture. Defender Jeremy Toljan has a should injury and is ruled out of action. Midfielder Abdou Harroui has a muscle strain which will keep him out of the match.
Despite being winless in their last three games, Napoli took 10 points from the last 18 points on offer. He Partenopei’s defence was poor across those six games with 10 goals conceded. Twelve goals were scored by Napoli in the last six games.
Sassuolo took seven points from the last 18 points on offer in the league. The Neroverdi scored 10 times and conceded nine goals to their last six opponents.
Napoli should end their three-match winless streak with a narrow 2-1 victory over Sassuolo. The win could reignite a late title fight if the Milan clubs drop points this weekend.
