Granada and Espanyol to both score in final game
2029

This weekend also sees the final round of matches in the Spanish top flight and Sunday features this upcoming clash between Granada and Espanyol at the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes with the hosts desperate for all three points which would see them secure their La Liga status for next season.

Granada’s survival hopes took a dent last time out though in La Liga when they were handed a 2-0 defeat away from home at Real Betis which has left Sunday’s hosts sitting two league positions and just one point above the relegation zone prior to this upcoming clash with Espanyol.

The hosts will still feel upbeat about their chances in this season finale though as they had previously posted back to back wins against Mallorca 6-2 away from home before recording a vital 1-0 home win against Athletic Bilbao.

League wins have been hard to come by for Granada though as the hosts have won just three out of their last 19 matches overall and just one home win in their last nine attempts.

Both teams have scored though in 13 of Granada’s 18 home games to date.

Espanyol have already secured their safety in the Spanish top flight for another season.

The visitors head into this final game of the La Liga season having failed to win any of their last six matches overall.

Despite picking up points in draws with Osasuna and Valencia (both of which were on home turf at their RCDE Stadium), Espanyol have also slumped to four defeats within this recent six-match spell, suffering losses against Atletico Madrid, Rayo Vallecano, Real Madrid and Alaves.

Three of these four losses were incurred away from home where it has not been a happy hunting ground for Espanyol.

The visitors have registered just one win on the road throughout the whole of this season’s La Liga campaign to date.

That solitary win came in the shape of a 2-1 win at Valencia so the prospects of an away win here seem slim at best, especially as Espanyol have also slipped to 12 defeats within their 18 away games so far this term.

However, the goals market may appeal here as 10 of Espanyol’s 18 away games have also seen both teams score.
