Another Draw Expected Between Sassuolo and Salernitana on Sunday
2220

11th meets with 13th in Serie A this weekend with Salernitana heading to the Mapei Stadium where Sassuolo will be aiming to make it two wins in a row for the first time this season just as the away team looks to build on some unfortunate games in recent times.

Despite sitting 13th, Salernitana can take a lot of confidence from the first few games of the season and it doesn’t quite add up to what they have been like so far.

In fact, the club led 2-0 at the Juventus Stadium against Juventus not too long ago, before eventually drawing the game 2-2.

They've also racked up draws against Empoli 2-2 and Bologna 2-1 and even been one of the few teams to stop the in-form Udinese from beating them too with a 0-0 draw back in the middle of August.

In fact, only the 1-0 loss to Roma at the start of the season and a 2-1 defeat to Lecce last time out dampens what has otherwise been a commendable start for the club in 2022/23.

Alarmingly, however, Lecce did manage to beat them at Salernitana's ground, as the 2-1 victory for the away side that day came with Salernitana having only four shots on target and even equalising through an own goal.

Davide Nicola's men are still living off the stunning 4-0 win over Sampdoria, which remains one of their highest-scoring wins in Serie A history, as Erik Botheim, Tonny Vilhene, Federico Bonazzoli and Boulaye Dia all scored a goal each in that famous win.

However, they remain in 13th in the league and have nothing to shout about but that one win after forfeiting their lead in Turin against Juventus.

Sassuolo, however, are not in that much of a better spot and they have been one of one of the few teams who have failed to beat Cremonese this season in a 0-0 draw.

However, with a commendable draw against the champions AC Milan in a 0-0 showing and a recent 1-0 win over Torino in Turin, there is a bit more to shout about for them.

Sassuolo did only have a win over Lecce just prior to this win to boast about, with Juventus hammering them 3-0 and Udinese beating them 3-1 this season already.

Not much separates these two here, and Forebet predicts a draw here and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
