Arsenal will be looking to keep pace with Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title when Brighton & Hove Albion visit the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Sitting one point behind Man City, the Gunners still stand an excellent chance of securing the silverware, although Pep Guardiola’s side have a game in hand over their title rivals.

As for Brighton, they occupy seventh place in the table. Boasting two games in hand over most teams around them, the Seagulls will be hopeful of sneaking into the European places.

There is no hiding the fact that Arsenal endured a difficult period last month, recording three straight draws before suffering a 4-1 defeat to Man City.

However, Mikel Arteta’s men have bounced back with a couple of big wins, defeating Chelsea 3-1 before securing an impressive 2-0 victory at Newcastle United.

The Gunners have now lost just one of their last 13 Premier League games, with only four defeats coming in their 35 league encounters this season.

Having lost one of their 17 home league matches this term – winning five of the previous six – Arsenal will be confident of notching a third successive victory this weekend.

Brighton, on the other hand, enter Sunday’s clash on the back of a shock 5-1 home defeat to relegation strugglers Everton.

Despite seeing 78% of the ball while racking up 23 shots, the Seagulls conceded three goals in the opening 35 minutes and failed to recover after that.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side have been wildly inconsistent in recent weeks, recording three wins and three losses across their previous six Premier League outings.

Still, Brighton have only lost two of their last 10 away league games, giving the south coast side plenty of reasons for optimism ahead of their trip to the capital.

Head-to-head: It is worth remembering that Arsenal claimed a 4-2 victory over Brighton in the reverse fixture back in December.

That said, both teams have won four of the past 11 Premier League meetings, producing three draws along the way, while both teams have scored in seven of the previous 11 encounters.

Team news: Arsenal look set to be without the injured trio of William Saliba, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny for the remainder of the campaign.

On the flip side, Solly March has joined Tariq Lamptey, Jeremy Sarmiento, Jakub Moder, Joel Veltman and Adam Lallana on Brighton’s injury list.

Given the nature of the recent meetings between these two sides, Arsenal and Brighton look set to produce an entertaining clash on Sunday.

Forebet predicts that Arsenal and Brighton will combine for over 4.5 at the Emirates, although the hosts are expected to come away with all three points.
