The Struggling Burton and Cambridge Set to Play Out a Close One on Monday
Burton Albion vs Cambridge Utd - 09/10/2023

The Pirelli Stadium opens its doors for another game for Burton Albion with Dino Maamria's side aiming to keep up their unbeaten streak after a dreadful start sees Cambridge United head to their backyard on matchday 12.
Just like last season, it has been another awful start to the season for Burton. The club failed to win any of their first eight games and exited the EFL Cup at the first round to Championship side Leicester City as a result.
The Brewers also suffered losses to Blackpool, Derby County and Shrewsbury Town in the first few games of the season, only scoring a goal when it came to matchday three with a finish from Mason Bennett.
Draws with Wycombe Wanderers and Bolton Wanderers would come soon after for Burton, and by losing to Exeter City and Barnsley in the first two games of September, they were sitting in the relegation zone after the first seven games.
However, Maamria finally carried his side to a win over Port Vale in September and the club has rode the wave of an unbeaten streak ever since, putting together three wins and two draws in the past five games.
Beryly Lubala scored the first goal against Port Vale, as Steve Seddon and Kwadwo Baah also bagged in the second half.
Joe Powell got a goal in the following games against Fleetwood Town, as Mason Bennett was back amongst the goals alongside Deji Oshilaja in the win over Everton U21s.
A 0-0 draw with Reading would follow, but Joe Powell would score twice in a narrow win over Wigan Athletic. However, a red card for Lubala that day now sees him miss this game.
As for Cambridge, it’s been a similar story for them. They are currently sitting in 15th and just three places above Burton in the table.
This does see the U's head into this one with a winless run of five games, including a 4-0 thumping from Barnsley last time out.
A 0-0 draw with Derby County would come in before that, as they were also beaten 2-0 by Peterborough United in the Football League Trophy group stages.
Other results have seen Cambridge draw 1-1 with Port Vale and lose away to Wigan 2-1, meaning their 1-0 win over Reading is all they have to boast about in the past month - Fejiri Okenabirhie was the hero once again that day with a goal in the second half.
Forebet now predicts a draw and under 2.5 goals in this game.
