West Ham United will be looking to maintain their 100% record in the UEFA Europa League when they do battle with Olympiacos in Greece on Thursday.
Thanks to back-to-back victories, the Hammers find themselves three points clear of second-placed SC Freiburg in Group A.
With Olympiacos and Backa Topola on one point after two matches, David Moyes’ men have the opportunity to take control of the group on Thursday.
On Sunday, Olympiacos’ clash with Panathinaikos was abandoned after a visiting player was hit by a firecracker, with the score poised at 1-1.
Although Olympiacos remain unbeaten at the summit of the Greek Super League after eight games, it remains to be seen whether the club will be punished for Sunday’s occurrence.
In the Europa League, Olympiacos came from behind on two occasions against Freiburg on Matchday 1, only to suffer a 3-2 defeat on home soil.
Having thrown away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Backa Topola in their second Europa League match, the Greeks will be eager to turn things around.
As for West Ham, they kicked off their Europa League campaign with a 3-1 victory over Backa Topola before defeating Freiburg 2-1 last time around.
That means Moyes’ side boast a 100% record in Europe this season, and they also average 2.5 goals per game for good measure.
However, the Hammers endured a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Aston Villa on Sunday, conceding three second-half goals to dash any hopes of a comeback.
Consequently, West Ham have failed to win four of their previous eight encounters across all competitions, so they will be keen to establish some consistency.
Head-to-head: This is the first-ever meeting between Olympiacos and West Ham, meaning there are no previous results to assess for this fixture.
Team news: Olympiacos will be without suspended midfielder Andreas Ntoi on Thursday, while Omar Richards (calf) and Doron Leidner (knee) are injured.
On the flip side, there are question marks over the fitness of West Ham duo Aaron Cresswell (thigh) and Ben Johnson (groin).
Despite suffering a heavy defeat last time out, West Ham look set to bounce back and maintain their 100% record in the Europa League on Thursday.
Forebet predicts that Olympiacos and West Ham will combine for over 2.5 goals, with the Hammers claiming all three points.
