El Clasico takes centre stage in La Liga this weekend, as Barcelona host arch-rivals Real Madrid on Saturday afternoon.

The old foes are separated by a solitary point in the La Liga standings, with third-placed Barcelona trailing table-topping Real Madrid.

With high-flying Girona sandwiched between the two giants of Spanish football, each side will be eager to claim all three points this weekend.

Barcelona head into Saturday’s showdown on the back of a 2-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League, courtesy of goals from Ferran Torres and Fermin Lopez.

As a result, Xavi’s side remain unbeaten this season, having picked up 10 wins and three draws across all competitions.

In La Liga, Barcelona have secured seven wins and three draws to keep pace with Real Madrid and Girona, scoring 22 goals while conceding just 10.

When you look at the bigger picture, Barca have lost just seven of their last 50 games across all competitions, winning each of their previous eight on home soil.

Real Madrid also tasted victory in the Champions League in midweek, securing a 2-1 win against Braga thanks to goals from Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham has been nothing short of sensational this season, scoring 11 goals in his first 12 appearances for his new club.

Although Los Blancos were held to a 1-1 draw by Sevilla last weekend, they remain atop the table after winning eight of their 10 league games this term.

Having also conceded a mealy seven goals in La Liga, Real Madrid boast the best defensive record in the Spanish top flight right now.

Head-to-head: When Barcelona and Real Madrid last met back in April, Los Blancos claimed a giant 4-0 victory in the Copa del Rey.

Across the past nine meetings, however, both sides have picked up four wins. That tells you everything you need to know about the competitiveness of this fixture.

Team news: Barcelona’s injury list contains Pedri, Sergio Roberto, Frenkie de Jong, Robert Lewandowski and Jules Kounde, while Raphinha is a doubt.

Real Madrid have multiple injury abentees of their own, with Thibaut Courtois, Arda Guler, Joselu, Dani Ceballos and Eder Militao all on the sidelines.

Although Real Madrid lead the way after 10 matches, Barcelona will be confident of extending their unbeaten start to the season.

Forebet predicts that Barcelona will claim the bragging rights this time around, scoring over 1.5 goals while keeping a clean sheet against Real Madrid.
