There is no bigger fixture in the Bundesliga calendar than the meeting between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

The first Der Klassiker of the season will take place on the 4th of November at Signal Iduna Park and the hosts begin the weekend in 4th place on 21 points while the visitors are in 2nd place on 23 points.

Borussia Dortmund come into the game on the back of a 1-0 home victory over Hoffenheim in the DFP Pokal on Wednesday night.

The only goal of the game was scored in the 43rd minute and with no further goals in the second half, Dortmund progressed to the third round of the competition.

The victory over Hoffenheim means Dortmund are undefeated in their last 8 fixtures in all competitions.

There have been wins over Wolfsburg, Union Berlin, and Werder Bremen at home plus Hoffenheim away in the Bundesliga.

Dortmund also recorded an excellent 1-0 win at Newcastle United in the Champions League and were held to a 0-0 draw at home by AC Milan in the same competition.

Trends show Dortmund are undefeated in their last 26 home matches in all competitions.

They have won 15 of their last 17 home Bundesliga fixtures and that includes each of their last 3 league games on home soil.

Dortmund have scored at least once in each of their last 56 Bundesliga home matches.

Bayern Munich travel to Signal Iduna Park having suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at Saarbrücken in the DFB Pokal second round on Wednesday night.

When Bayern took the lead in the 16th minute, it seemed like they would cruise into the third round but Saarbrücken equalised on the stroke of half time.

Then, as the game drifted into added time at the end of the second half, the 3. Liga team scored the dramatic winning goal.

The defeat at Saarbrücken was the first loss in 14 games for Bayern in all competitions.

They had won each of their previous 5 matches, with the victories coming over Freiburg and Darmstadt at home plus Mainz away in the Bundesliga.

There were also wins over FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray away in the Champions League.

Tends show Bayern are unbeaten in all their last 10 matches in the Bundesliga.

They have won 5 of their last 6 away Bundesliga fixtures and seen both teams score in 6 of their last 7 league games on the road.

Team news: Dortmund are without the injured trio of Emre Can, Julien Duranville, and Mateu Morey. There are also doubts over the fitness of Marius Wolf.

Bayern are without suspended midfielder Joshua Kimmich. Kingsley Coman, Tarek Buchmann, and Gabriel Marusic are all in the treatment room plus Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt are doubts.

This is going to be a fascinating watch and we should see plenty of goals in the match.

Dortmund are in good form but Bayern have had much the better of Der Klassiker in the Bundesliga recently, winning 8 of the last 9 meetings with Dortmund. We expect to see both teams scoring and for Bayern to take maximum points.
