It Feels Like a Must-Win Game for Man United Against Luton

Anything but a win for Manchester United this weekend against Luton Town could spell the end for Erik ten Hag at the helm of the club after another disastrous result in midweek that sees them hanging by a thread in the Champions League.

United took a 2-0 lead at Copenhagen during the week and ended up losing the game 4-3. They would also retake the lead at 3-2, but after Marcus Rashford was sent off and following a controversial penalty decision soon after, ten Hag saw his third defeat in four games in Europe this season.

As suggested by the Copenhagen manager, United were still the better team, but this has only forced more pressure on the man at the helm with him also sitting eighth in the Premier League.

The Red Devils did get back to winning ways over the weekend when they met with Fulham at Craven Cottage, but once again, it was not an easy win.

Very few chances came in for the club throughout the game, but a winner from Bruno Fernandes in the final 10 minutes was the difference, as the Portuguese midfielder produced the goods with an excellent finish once again.

This was also the first win in two games for United, as Manchester City thrashed them 3-0 in the Manchester derby before Newcastle United did the same to them in the EFL Cup. This also means six goals conceded and zero scored at Old Trafford in the past two games.

Ten Hag's side are now sitting behind the top four by six points and are also adrift of City at the top of the table by nine points already, as a result of losing five games and winning only six of the 11.

Worse yet, they have scored an embarrassing tally of 12 goals and let in 16 too.

Should United lose to a Luton team that has failed to win more than one game this season, it would be nothing short of a miracle if ten Hag were to keep his spot at the helm of the club.

Luton’s only win was, however, against Everton at Goodison Park, making their away form better than their home one.

Carlton Morris was the hero that day, and he will be United’s biggest threat after scoring three goals in 11 matches. However, Forebet predicts a win for United and for the game to see over 2.5 goals.
