Celtic are top of the SPL table, leading their city rivals by five points, but they have played two more games than the visitors.
The reigning Scottish champions haven’t had it all their own way of late, with some poor results earlier this month in the SPL, including defeats against Kilmarnock and, maybe most notably, a 2-0 home loss against Hearts.
However, Brendan Rodgers’ team seem to have now built up some momentum of late in the Scottish top-flight, as they have now recorded two wins in a row against Livingston and Dundee without conceding while also scoring two goals at the other end of the pitch.
As is usually the case with Celtic, they have a solid recent home record in the SPL, as they have claimed victories in five of their last seven league games at Celtic Park.
The visitors will feel that they are well in the title race despite the points gap to the Hoops, especially with the two games in hand on their rivals.
A victory at Celtic Park could prove to be massive in the title race.
An excellent run of form in recent months will have buoyed the visitors, as a 2-0 win at Motherwell last time out means that Rangers have won seven competitive games in a row.
Philippe Clement’s team has also been relatively potent in front of goal, scoring at least two goals in four of their last five games in all competitions.
Rangers have also been difficult to beat on their travels in the SPL, as they are unbeaten in seven matches on their travels, producing six wins and a draw.
