Valladolid and Girona to draw big game at the bottom of La Liga
3017

On Tuesday night, Real Valladolid host fellow strugglers Girona, in what could be a crucial game in the battle for survival in La Liga.

The home side currently occupy the last relegation spot in the Spanish top-flight but are just two points behind their 16th place visitors.

A recent poor run of just one league win in 12 outings, including failing to win in their last five La Liga outings, has not helped the home sides chances of survival.

Valladolid have at least drawn their last two matches against Getafe and Alaves. The home team has now conceded at least two goals in their last three La Liga outings.

Real Valladolid’s recent poor run of form on home soil in La Liga has not helped their position, as Sergio’s team has not won in six matches on home soil, drawing three and losing three in the process. Their home matches in the Spanish top-flight have been relatively low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last eight matches.

A run of five straight La Liga defeats has dragged Girona into the relegation dogfight. They are just two points clear of the drop zone. The visitors are certainly in a precarious position in the Spanish top-flight table.

A 2-1 defeat at Celta Vigo last time out means that Girona have now conceded at least twice in four of their last five La Liga outings.

The visitors have won just three of their last ten away matches in La Liga, suffering six defeats in the process on their travels in the Spanish top-flight.

Their recent away matches have been relatively low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in three of their last four matches on their travels.

Forebet predicts that this potentially vital clash will end in a low-scoring draw, which does neither side much good in their pursuit of safety this season.
