On Wednesday night, Charlton and Nottingham Forest clash at the Valley, as the home side look to continue their good start to the Championship campaign.

The home side has continued their positive momentum from last season’s promotion campaign by making an unbeaten start to life back in the second tier.

In fact, the Addicks are second in the Championship table after recording two wins and a draw from their opening three matches in the second tier. Last time out in the Championship, Lee Bowyer’s team drew 2-2 at Barnsley.

Monserrat international forward Lyle Taylor has made a bright start to the season by scoring three goals in as many Championship games.

Prior to this season, Charlton had won just one of their previous seven matches in the second tier, which resulted in their relegation to League One in 2016. Therefore, the good start to the campaign is encouraging for the home side.

The Addicks 3-1 win over Stoke at the Valley earlier this season ended a three-game losing run on home soil in the Championship. However, the team from the English capital look far better equipped to play second-tier football this season.

Nottingham Forest’s start to their Championship campaign rather sums up their fortunes in recent seasons in the second tier. The Tricky Trees have picked up four points from their opening three games of the season. Last time out in the second tier, Forest recorded a 3-0 home win over Birmingham City.

One facet that boss Sabri Lamouchi will be hoping to improve will be the visitors away form in the Championship, as they have won just once in 15 matches on their travels.

On paper, there is very little between these two teams. Therefore, it is no surprise that Forebet predicts that this clash will finish in a low-scoring draw.
