Charlton and Swansea to share the points at The Valley

Charlton Athletic bounced back from two recent defeats on the trot in the Championship in style when they recorded a 1-0 home win against high-flying Leeds United on the weekend to hand lee Bowyer’s side a precious three points.

Previously, Charlton had suffered back-to-back defeats against Birmingham City 1-0 at home and a 2-0 loss away from home at Wigan Athletic, so for The Addicks to bounce back with a win against a strong Leeds United outfit will give Wednesday night’s hosts a welcome and timely boost ahead of the visit from Swansea City.

Overall, it’s been a successful return to the Championship for Charlton Athletic as they’ve won 5 of their 9 matches so far in this campaign and have lost just twice. Results on home turf at The Valley have also been promising as the hosts have recorded wins against Stoke City, Brentford and Leeds United to date this term.

However, Charlton are likely to be without their leading goalscorer, Taylor (5 goals) for this clash due to a knee injury.

Onto Swansea City, and the visitors were held to a second draw on the trot in the second tier on the weekend when they shared the points in a 1-1 stalemate at home with Reading  which followed a previous 0-0 draw away at Bristol City.

Although Swansea City have now failed to win any of their last 3 matches in the Championship, the Welsh club have managed to hold onto 2nd place for the time being as they’ve suffered just 1 defeat so far in this new Championship campaign.

That loss came in the shape of a 1-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest but The Swans will be reasonably confident when they make their way to the nation’s capital on Wednesday night as they’re unbeaten in their last 6 away matches.

This decent sequence of results on the road consist of 3 wins (Ipswich Town, QPR and Leeds United) along with 3 draws (Blackburn Rovers, Derby County and Bristol City), while striker Borja Baston (6 goals) looks the most likely for the visitors in this one.

These two teams have met only twice before with their last meeting ending in a 1-1 draw 10 years ago, and we could see another similar scoreline unfold here with both teams settling for a point.
