Comfortable Merseyside Derby for Liverpool
4011

We have a full list of Premier League fixtures to look forward to this week and on Wednesday 4th of December there is a meeting between Liverpool and Everton. The match will be played at Anfield and is the first Merseyside derby of the season.

Liverpool will be playing to try and extend their lead at the top of the Premier League whereas Everton are struggling towards the foot of the table. Sitting just 2 points clear of the relegation zone, this is an important match not only for the club in terms of league position but potentially for the future of manager Marco Silva.

The hosts come into this game having defeated Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1 at home in their previous Premier League match on Saturday. Having taken a 2 goal lead in the first half, things appeared to be going along nicely but the sending off of goalkeeper Alisson and the concession of a goal made things difficult. However, Liverpool held on to take maximum points and preserve their unbeaten run in the Premier League this season.

Trends show Liverpool are undefeated in their last 34 home games in all competitions and have managed to win their last 14 home matches in Premier League. Liverpool have scored 2 or more goals in each of their last 14 home Premier League games but keeping clean sheets has become a bit of an issue. The Reds have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last 7 home league matches and will hope to improve in that department.

Everton looked to have sealed a point away against Leicester City on Sunday afternoon but conceded a late goal to lose the game 2-1. The Toffees took the lead in the first half but conceded an equaliser after 68 minutes. With the game deep into injury time Everton conceded another goal to lose the match.

It was a better performance from Everton than what we have seen in previous games this season. However, the fact remains they have won only one of their last 5 Premier League games and have picked up just 2 wins in their last 10 league matches.

Trends show Everton have lost 5 of their last 6 away games in the Premier League and they have conceded 2 or more goals in 4 of those 6 matches.

Looking ahead to the team news and Liverpool will be without suspended goalkeeper Alisson so Adrian will start the match. Fabinho and Nathaniel Clyne are injured and there are doubts over the fitness of Joel Matip.

Everton make the short trip to Anfield without Andre Gomes and Jean-Philippe Gbamin who are both injured. Fabian Delph, Theo Walcott and Seamus Coleman are close to a return.

Everything points to a home win in this match. Liverpool are very strong at home while Everton are struggling to win games. Expect to see Liverpool score 2 or more goals to win the match.
