The final game of the weekend in the French Ligue 1 will be played at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais on the 18th of September as Lyon meet Paris Saint-Germain.

The hosts begin the weekend in 5th place on 13 points while the visitors are top of the table on 19 points.

Lyon come into the match having suffered a 2-1 defeat at Monaco last weekend in Ligue 1.

With the score 0-0 at half time, it was the hosts who opened the scoring in the 55th minute and they added a second goal just 8 minutes later. Lyon got a goal back in the 81st minute but there was not enough time left for them to get an equaliser.

That was the second successive defeat in Ligue 1 for Lyon following the 3-1 loss at Lorient. Having fallen a goal behind after only 6 minutes, Lyon scored the equaliser in the 28th minute.

However, Lorient scored their second goal 5 minutes later and added a third shortly after half time.

The two defeats have put a dent in what was a good start to the season for Lyon. They won 4 of their opening 5 league fixtures and picked up a point in a 1-1 draw at Reims.

Home form is good and Lyon have won each of their last 8 home Ligue 1 fixtures. Trends show Lyon have scored in each of their last 16 league games.

PSG make the trip to the Parc Olympique Lyonnais on the back of a 3-1 win at Maccabi Haifa in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

In terms of Ligue 1, PSG recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Brest last weekend at the Parc des Princes. The only goal of the game was scored by Neymar in the 30th minute and means PSG remain undefeated in the league this season.

They have won 6 of their 7 Ligue 1 matches, with the wins coming at home against Montpellier and Brest plus away to Clermont, Lille, Toulouse, and Nantes.

The only dropped points of the season for PSG have come at home against Monaco in a 1-1 draw. PSG were forced to come from behind to take a point in that game.

Trends show PSG are undefeated in their last 16 league games. They have been scoring goals for fun on the road, netting 3 or more goals in each of their last 8 away Ligue 1 fixtures.

Team news and Lyon will be without the injured duo of Julian Pollersbeck and Jérome Boateng.

PSG travel without Keylor Navas, Presnel Kimpembe, and Renato Sanches, who are all on the treatment table.

This has the makings of a tremendous match and we expect to see both teams score and over 3.5 goals in the game. PSG have been scoring plenty of goals on the road in Ligue 1 and despite conceding to the hosts, should score enough goals to take maximum points.
