Can Arsenal lay down another marker at Stamford Bridge?

Arsenal will be looking to maintain their lead at the Premier League summit when they face London rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in Sunday’s early kick-off.

As we head into Matchday 15, the Gunners find themselves two points clear of Manchester City and five points ahead of third-place Tottenham Hotspur.

Meanwhile, Chelsea occupy sixth place. The Blues are three points outside the top four and ten points behind Arsenal. Can they make up ground this weekend?

Chelsea have failed to win any of their previous three Premier League games. After drawing with Brentford (0-0) and Manchester United (1-1), they suffered a 4-1 loss to Brighton last weekend.

That said, the Blues have only lost one of their last seven league outings and even claimed four straight wins between early September and mid-October.

It is worth noting that Chelsea have avoided defeat in the first half of each of their past 24 home games in the Premier League.

On Wednesday, Graham Potter’s side came from behind to beat Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League – securing top spot in Group E in the process.

Arsenal, on the other hand, have only lost one of their 12 Premier League games this season – securing ten victories in the process.

Following last weekend’ 5-0 thrashing of Nottingham Forest, the Gunners have now scored over 2.5 goals on six occasions in the league this term.

Mikel Arteta’s side have avoided defeat in each of their previous six Premier League outings, sealing five wins and one draw along the way.

On Thursday, Arsenal claimed a 1-0 victory over FC Zurich in the Europa League – sealing top spot in Group A and a place in the knockout phase.

Head-to-head: Chelsea have only managed to win one of their last six meetings with Arsenal in all competitions, suffering four losses in that time.

Given that nine of the last 13 meetings between Chelsea and Arsenal have dished up over 2.5 goals, we should see plenty of action on Sunday.

Team news: Chelsea have a number of notable players sidelined through injury, including Reece James, N’Golo Kante, Wesley Fofana and Ben Chilwell.

Arsenal have several injury absentees, too, with Emile Smith Rowe, Mohamed Elneny, Bukayo Saka and Oleksandr Zinchenko expected to miss Sunday’s showdown.

When you couple Arsenal’s current form with their recent record against Chelsea, all the signs point towards an away win on Sunday.

Forebet predicts that Arsenal will score over 1.5 goals and keep a clean sheet on their way to dispatching Chelsea.
