Aston Villa play hosts to Crystal Palace at VIlla Park this weekend with the club now sitting with two wins and two defeats from four games as the Eagles head into this match a few places above them in the table.
It’s been a tough start for Villa in a season where they are back in Europe for the first time in over two decades.
The Midlands side will begin their Europa Conference League campaign next week, but first and foremost in the Premier League, they are needing to find a bit of form.
Unai Emery’s men won’t be getting too concerned given their excellent form last season, but so far, they have managed to get thumped 5-1 by Newcastle United after a goal on his debut from Moussai Diaby.
He would go on to score in his second away game too, as Villa managed to beat Burnley at Turf Moor following an excellent first 20 minutes from full-back Matty Cash where he scored two goals in that time.
Villa’s other win this season saw them ease to all three points in their first home game where John McGinn netted after just 18 minutes before a penalty from Douglas Luiz was converted.
Leon Bailey was also amongst the goals with Jhon Duran in a 4-0 battering of the Toffees.
Emery has also led his side to an 8-0 two-legged win over Hibernian, as Villa smashed them 5-0 in Scotland with thanks to a hat-trick from Ollie Watkins and another penalty from Luiz.
Bailey also bagged once more that day before he got another in the home leg alongside a goal each from Duran and Cash.
As for Palace, they got back in the win column last weekend with a 3-2 win over Wolves at home. Odsonne Edouard scored a brace in that game with two goals in the second half, as Eberechi Eze also scored in the second half.
A 4-2 win over Plymouth Argyle would also come in the game before that, as Jean-Philippe Mateta secured a second half hat-trick with two of his goals coming within one minute of one another. Edouard also scored a goal that day too.
Further results this season have seen the Eagles draw away to Brentford while also losing at home to Arsenal.
Sheffield United are the other victims of a loss to Palace this campaign with an opening weekend victory for the Eagles that saw Edouard get another finish.
Forebet predicts a win for Villa in this game and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
