The Premier League returns this weekend following the international break. In Saturday’s early kick-off, Liverpool host cross-city rivals Everton at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have managed an impressive start to the season, losing just one of their eight Premier League matches.

As a result, Liverpool find themselves fourth – 10 points clear of 16th-placed Everton and only three points shy of joint leaders Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

The Reds kicked off their Premier League campaign with a six-game unbeaten streak, drawing with Chelsea before notching five successive victories.

However, Klopp’s men have managed to take just one point from their last two matches, losing to Tottenham before drawing with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Liverpool will be confident of returning to winning ways on Saturday, though, as they have avoided defeat in each of their past 15 home league games.

Having lost only three of their previous 26 Premier League encounters, Klopp’s side are firm favourites to claim all three points this weekend.

On the flip side, Everton have managed to win just two of their eight league outings this season, recording one draw and five defeats in the process.

Consequently, the Toffees find themselves only three points outside the relegation zone with one of the worst offensive records in the division.

That said, Everton can take confidence from their recent away record, as they have lost just one of their previous nine matches on the road.

Having recorded three wins, one draw and loss on their travels this term, Sean Dyche’s men will fancy their chances of upsetting the odds at Anfield.

Head-to-head: Famously, Everton have only managed to win one of their last 28 matches against Liverpool across all competitions.

More recently, Liverpool have won three of the previous four encounters between the two rivals, scoring eight goals while keeping three straight clean sheets.

Team news: Liverpool’s Curtis Jones is suspended, while Andrew Robertson, Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic are sidelined through injury.

Everton’s injury list contains long-term absentees Seamus Coleman and Dele Alli, with Andre Gomes also expected to miss Saturday’s showdown.

When you couple current form with Everton’s woeful recent record against Liverpool, all the signs point towards an easy home win this weekend.

Forebet predicts that Liverpool will score over 2.5 goals on their way to dispatching Everton while claiming the Merseyside bragging rights.
