Selhurst Park opens its doors to Crystal Palace and Liverpool this weekend with the Reds aiming to keep the pressure on Arsenal and potentially move to the top of the Premier League table.

Given how Arsenal meet with Aston Villa this weekend, there is a chance that the Gunners drop points, while Liverpool also play before them and can go top for a short while at least against Palace.

Liverpool fans will be very confident in doing so, as this is a fixture that has also seen the Eagles record their biggest-ever Premier League home defeat and the Reds secure their highest-ever win away from home.

The 2020/21 season saw Liverpool rack up seven goals in a 7-0 win, as Mohamed Salah scored two late goals alongside a brace for Roberto Firmino and goals from Takumi Minamino, Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane.

Of course, only Salah remains from that scoresheet, but with the Reds still sitting in a title race without the likes of Mane and Henderson, it only shows the brilliance of Jurgen Klopp at the helm of the club.

During the week, Liverpool recorded a routine win away to Sheffield United in what was their first game with Chris Wilder after his return to the club.

Virgil van Dijk scored a first half goal that day, as Dominik Szoboszlai carried on his excellent form at the club with a finish deep into stoppage time.

Klopp’s side also defeated Fulham in a thrilling match just before this, as Alexis Mac Allister scored his first Premier League goal for Liverpool before Wateru Endo did the same in a comeback win that saw two late goals.

It was another finish from Trent Alexander-Arnold that stole the show, however, as his thumping volley earned the Reds all three points.

Liverpool have also managed to beat LASK 4-0 at Anfield in the past two weeks, meaning they are unbeaten since that 3-2 loss to Toulouse back at the start of November, as Klopp's men have also drawn 1-1 at the Etihad.

As for Palace, it’s been another mediocre season for them that sees the club not in a relegation fight and away from the top half of the table by a few points.

Palace have won just four games and lost seven times and scored a dismal tally of 14 so far.

Forebet predicts a win for Liverpool and over 2.5 goals.
