Chelsea will be looking to bounce back from their opening-day thrashing as they welcome Leicester City to Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

It was a horror start for Frank Lampard as the new Chelsea boss saw his side lose 4-0 to Manchester United in his first competitive match in charge.

Chelsea started with real promise and Tammy Abraham rattled the post early on. Emerson also hit the woodwork but the Blues failed to convert their chances into goals.

Despite registering 18 shots and 54% possession, Chelsea ultimately came away with nothing.

Leicester dominated the statistics in their first match of the new campaign but had to settle with a goalless draw against Wolves.

The Foxes had a whopping 70% of the ball possession and recorded 16 shots but couldn’t break down Wolves’ resolute back line.

New signing Ayoze Perez made his first start for the club on the opening day following his move from Newcastle, and the Spaniard will be hoping to keep his place against Chelsea.

Following loan spells away from the club last season, Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Kurt Zouma all started against Man Utd.

Christian Pulisic came off the bench to make his debut for Chelsea and is likely to be in line for his first start against Leicester.

Chelsea lost just once at home last season and Stamford Bridge is known for being a fortress for the team.

The Blues picked up 42 points at home in the 2018/19 campaign while conceding just 12 goals.

On the other hand, Leicester lost 8 of their 19 away matches last season and will need to improve if they are to get anything from the game on Sunday.

The Foxes will take hope from the fact that they were unbeaten in both matches against Chelsea in the Premier League last season.

Leicester beat Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge while the match at the King Power Stadium ended as a goalless draw.

However, if you look at the last 10 matches between the two teams, then it’s Chelsea who have the far superior record in this fixture.

Chelsea have lost twice in that time, and on three occasions they have won whilst scoring three or more goals.

The Blues lost the Super Cup against Liverpool on Thursday however they are expected to bounce back against Leicester this weekend.

Forebet predicts a tight match, with both teams to score and Chelsea to snatch a narrow victory.
